We Are Nations & Brazil

We Are Nations produces merchandise for esports teams and leagues all over the world, including Australia, South Korea, and across Europe. Today we want to share a little about our presence in Brazil.

We Are Nations entered into a joint venture with Brazilian company Connection Gaming Wear earlier this year as a part of Nations’ global growth mission.

Connection Gaming Wear is headed by Brazil’s Marcelo Rodante. They were the first brand to manufacture jerseys for the League of Legends Championships.

A launch event was held in June in Sao Paulo on behalf of the esports team MiBR (Made in Brazil), the first client of the joint venture partnership. The event also celebrated the simultaneous launch of the webstore.

We chatted with Marcelo Rodante about this partnership and what this means for esports merchandise in Brazil and worldwide.

What is your background and how did you get involved in the esports industry?

I grew up in the middle of esports’ growth. I’ve played professionally, which is how I know most of the influencers in Brazil today.

As for clothing, my business partner and my family have been in this environment for more than 30 years, so we have a lot of experience and knowledge.

Where do you see esports merchandise going and how big do you see it becoming?

This market is already huge worldwide, and I believe over time it’s going to become even more significant. Technology is the future, so more and more we’ll have it as part of our day to day.

What do you see for the future of esports merchandise in Brazil with MiBR and worldwide?

This is still very new in Brazil, we have a maximum of three years of professionalism, so we have a lot to grow. Unfortunately, this may take a while, as we are going through some worrying times in our economy. But we’ll get there!

Why work with We Are Nations? What drew you to working with Nations?

It was a recommendation from my friend, Alexandre Gaules. When I met the brand I realized that we have a lot in common, and that we are both working to reach the top. In a short time we will see Nations dominating the market.

What kind of impact do you see the partnership with Nations having in Brazil?

Brazil is lacking in this aspect of brands, so if we do everything right, we will monopolize this market.

What games do you like to play and why?

Counter-Strike. That’s what I’ve played professionally and I have several friends in it. World of Warcraft too. It’s fun to pass the time with friends.
